swu file. As stated in [1]: If multiple `?=` assignments are used
the first of those assignments ends up getting used.

This fixes [2].

did anyone already examined or reported that all messages to cip-dev now
seem to get archived twice on lore.kernel.org? See e.g.

They also appear twice via nntp, that's how I noticed, but are likely
not sent twice to subscribers.

Hello RT-list!

I'm pleased to announce the 4.4.285-rt226 stable release.

There are some futex changes in the RT code which were necessary
because of the fuxex backports in v4.4.280. It took me a while to
figure the merge conflicts and what needs to be changed in the
futex/rtmutex patches. The v4.4 version of "Add the rtmutex rework"
path is updated. The the locking rules changed, see the fixup patch
for hb->lock and mutex->wait_lock.

Unfortunatly, I am not able to upload the patches to the usual places
because I had to create a new gpg subkey as my old one expired. And
now kup tells me my signature is invalid. I created a ed25519 signing
key instead of a rsa one. Maybe this is what kup upsets. No idea and
the security tools are helpful as always... NOT.

As I didn't want to delay the release even more I only pushed the
changes to the git tree.

Hello RT-list!

I'm pleased to announce the 4.4.285-rt226 stable release.

There are some futex changes in the RT code which were necessary
because of the fuxex backports in v4.4.280. It took me a while to
figure the merge conflicts and what needs to be changed in the
futex/rtmutex patches. The v4.4 version of "Add the rtmutex rework"
path is updated. The the locking rules changed, see the fixup patch
for hb->lock and mutex->wait_lock.

Unfortunatly, I am not able to upload the patches to the usual places
because I had to create a new gpg subkey as my old one expired. And
now kup tells me my signature is invalid. I created a ed25519 signing
key instead of a rsa one. Maybe this is what kup upsets. No idea and
the security tools are helpful as always... NOT.

As I didn't want to delay the release even more I only pushed the
changes to the git tree.

Commonly used bluetooth/wifi drivers

Hi!

On cip-members, there was question of widely used drivers that we
should include for WIFI or Bluetooth.

AFAICT there are no standartized interfaces for WIFI, and each vendor
has their own. For Bluetooth, there's standard protocol to run over
serial and USB interfaces (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Bluetooth_protocols#Host_Controller_Interface_(HCI)
). Those are in drivers/bluetooth/btusb.c and drivers/bluetooth/hci_*.

If we were focused on notebooks, I'd be able to name common WIFI
chips, but embedded space is significantly different so my experience
is not useful here. I know of no dominant WIFI chip, but I'll be happy
to be corrected.

r8a774c0-ek874) have the device. So these boards look suitable if
probing is tested, although
wl18xx is currently not enabled in the corresponding config files.

On cip-members there's discussion about quality of selected wireless
drivers.

AFAICT we are reviewing changes to those drivers on -stable series
(good). We are not testing the drivers in any meaningful way, and it
may be good to mark them built-in (=y, not modular) in some configs so
at least probing is tested. Proper testing would be quite hard, and
ammount of changes to them in stable probably does not require it.

To me it looks like wl18xx is getting very little changes; rtl8821ae
gets a bit more, but they are simple cleanups; only ath10k seems to be
under any kind of active development.

I have no experience with any of those drivers. I don't expect much
work would need to be done on any of these. If there's work I'd expect
ath10k to be slightly easier to work with.

What's the purpose of this file? When should a user specify this option?
I think we already have too many option files and rather need to reduce
them than adding more.
My idea was to split the selection of efibootguard from the usage of wic-img so that we can generate other image formats together with efibootguard - in hindsight this is not necessary - you can skip this patch as patch 1 of this set solves the issue alone.
